Traveling to Colorado 2

Well on the way back home we decided to go to America's only WW1 museum and monument!
It was great!!!! I didn't know half as much about WW1 as I do now! To be honest I didn't even know how it got started! So I'm really grateful for being able to go.

The monument was built in the 1920's right after WW1. Later the foundation began to sink so they built a museum under it. :) The two side buildings are the only original buildings.

"WW1 is a forgotten history"

As the war grew on trees and plants were dying but one plant made it, the Poppy flower. For every flower planted here at the museum, 1,000 people died during WW1. (both sides)

If you look carefully you can see the monument and the flowers. :)

This timeline nearly went through the whole building! From the start of the war to the end!

A model of the trenches used during the war

A British soldier attacking a German

A trench that had been bombed

A theater in the center of the museum was set up with models of soldiers and even a plane.

During the documentary shadows were running across this broken down brick wall

Although in this photo this propeller looks small it was actually about four feet long.

An ambulance car

Robert walking through their model cave that led to a bombed area.

It was a really well done museum and I'm glad we went. I can truly say that I know more about WW1 then I did from the start. When you buy your ticket you are able to come there two days. Although we only had one day to spare it was still worth it! You should go up there some time! :)
