Well it's that time of year again...
And the civil war has come to town again.
I am grateful for this reenactment because it causes us never to forget our history. If we do we will be bound to repeat it.
The court house in Linden TN was burned May 12th 1863 by Union troops.
We came together on May 10th 2014 to remember those who died during this skirmish and those who died during the whole war.

We love you DuBois!
And so ends another great and wonderful day full to the brim with laughter and excitement! And although the confederates lost the day back in 1863, as some would put it, "the war never truly ended." Or "....we'll see you next time around, and maybe the story will be different."
Looks like you all had a lot of fun! I just love your costumes and dignified appearance. Alyssa has grown so much since November. I almost didn't recognize her!
ReplyDeleteI've nominated you for the Liebster Award, over at my blog:)
