Out of all the events I have gone to this is probably the most enjoyable! Not only was it fun but it brought to life in a whole new way what the civil war was like. But I wasn't just a viewer, making the dresses brought to light the reality of making one by hand. Going to this event was like going back into a time when women not only knew their place but didn't step out from their boundaries. And today we blame the state of things on the government? The Civil was was also a time when men were men and knew how to treat women. Recently I've been thinking about the difference between the wars America has had. A lot of people said that WW2 was the turning point for women in the work force. But thinking it over they were only doing what was normal for women in time of war. Taking over the men's jobs was the women's duty. The difference was where the jobs were. In the civil war they were at home. Even the "city" businesses were at home. You lived above your store. Well now that we got the history down, the event was a success! I enjoyed myself a lot!!
Thank you Courters for telling us about this!

Well the battle turned out better then expected. After it all seemed over and the Yankees had won, a grope of brave confederates attacked the army, freed the captives and won the war. But in real life the Yankees burned the court house and won.
Well all in all it was a pretty good day.
That looks like so much fun:) I love your costumes:)
